Our client, headquartered on the Jersey Shore in West Atlantic City, New Jersey, is the largest insurer of coastal homes in New Jersey. They have recently started a new Commercial Insurance Program for coastal commercial properties in New Jersey. In order to drive strong production & solid underwriting of high-quality commercial risks, they are searching for a Senior Commercial Production Underwriter, which will be a key leadership role within the new Commercial Program. This leadership position comes with a solid base compensation, bonus program, and excellent benefits, and offers the potential to grow into a senior leadership role of the company.

Qualified candidates will be deeply experienced in the underwriting of commercial property & commercial liability insurance and also have experience working with Excess & Surplus lines of commercial insurance products as well as working with commercial insurance wholesalers. They will be adept at working with independent agencies, agents & brokers. Knowledge of & experience in the Jersey Shore business environment will be important. The Senior Commercial Production Underwriter position is a multi-faceted role requiring a person with strong interpersonal & communication skills, strong work ethic, strong quest for results, ability to drive profitable growth, superior organizational skills, and the ability to effectively multi-task and pivot as priorities constantly change.

The Senior Commercial Production Underwriter will:

• Work closely with the Lines Product Manager, the Business Development team & their independent agency force to effectively drive new commercial production.

• Work closely with our outside providers of commercial liability coverage to ensure adequate coverage & competitive pricing.

• Work closely with our reinsurers for commercial risks requiring facultative coverage.

• Supervise, lead & train our commercial underwriters & underwriting assistants.

• Act as a liaison between various departments regarding our commercial insurance program.
