The role
A private wealth firm that serves ultra-high-net-worth clients is hiring a Client Advisor at the VP level. You'll own the day-to-day relationships with individuals, families, trusts, and foundations, and coordinate the firm's services around them: tax and financial planning, investments, legacy planning and trust administration, alternative asset management, philanthropic advisory, real estate, and insurance.
Internally, you're the connective tissue. You work alongside Senior Client Advisors and link the client to every service area, so nothing falls between the seams.
The organization
Our client is a private wealth firm serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and foundations.
Client service
- Communicate with clients and their advisors regularly, with timely, thorough responses
- Attend client meetings, document what's discussed, and coordinate follow-up
- Oversee preparation of client meeting materials, and build custom reports ahead of need and on request
- Record client information and communications in Salesforce
Account administration
- Oversee account opening and closing, and review the related documents
- Oversee account transactions and reporting
- Read and work comfortably with client wills, trusts, and governing documents, and apply them to account administration; set automated reminders and follow through
- Coordinate with fiduciary counsel so administration follows the governing documents
- Prepare Annual Relationship Reviews and keep every account compliant with regulatory requirements
Investment management
- Support the Senior Client Advisor on investment activities: implementing objectives, rebalancing accounts, executing trades, monitoring asset allocation and performance, and overseeing investment transitions
- Monitor daily internal reports and work with the account team to resolve issues such as overdrafts
- Coordinate client requests for funds, including regular disbursements
- Prepare asset allocation simulation modeling
Trust administration
- Prepare initial and annual trust reviews, and requests for discretionary distributions and special investments in trust
- Make required distributions from trusts and foundations
- Coordinate annual unitrust payments and private foundation grant payments with the tax department
- Process gifts to charity and family, and prepare and send Crummey letters as appropriate
- Coordinate with the tax department (or clients' outside preparers) on reporting gifts and GST exemption use on gift tax returns for irrevocable trusts
- Prepare reports to Trust Builder for irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), make transfers to ILITs as required, and pay life insurance premiums
- Other duties as assigned
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and ideally 8 or more years of related business experience; master's preferred
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
- The organization to handle multiple tasks, hit deadlines, and stay fully accurate
- Series 7 and Series 63 desired, with two years of Cannon Trust School or equivalent; CTFA, CFP, or CFA a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and Salesforce, ideally
