Position Summary
The Liability Claims Adjuster is responsible for initial claims handling. Their caseload consists of claims varying in complexity regarding coverage, liability and investigation. They are to obtain sufficient information to determine the exposure for each claim. Investigation and claims handling should include the ability to obtain the proper information needed to bring a claim to resolution.
Reports to: Liability Claims Supervisor
Essential Duties and Functions
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Initial contact with insured and claimants to determine coverage and liability exposure.
· Obtain recorded statements as warranted.
· Adhere to company reserving philosophy.
· Interpret policy language and apply analysis to claims handling.
· Monitor and control expenses.
· Maintain 1:1 closing ratio.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities)
· Minimum of 2 years experience in handling non-standard automobile claims.
· Florida All-Lines Adjuster License.
Preferred Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Skills and Competencies:
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Excellent customer service skills
