Job Title: Vice President, Senior Fiduciary Tax Advisor

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid, 2 days WFH)

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Position Summary:

We are a family office responsible for managing the financial, tax, and trust affairs of the family and related entities. We are looking for an experienced Trust Tax Professional to join our team as a Senior Tax Advisor. This person will handle the preparation of trust tax returns (Forms 1041, 709, 5227 and 1040), help manage trusts, and make sure everything stays in line with tax laws. You should be highly skilled in fiduciary tax work and understand trust accounting and how trusts operate.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review IRS Forms 1041, 709, 5227 and 1040.
  • File state fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Work with CPAs and attorneys on trust tax issues.
  • Stay up to date on trust tax law changes.
  • Keep accurate records of trust activity and distributions.
  • Read and understand trust documents and make sure everything is done properly.
  • Ensure all trust work is done according to the law and trust terms.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field (CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation preferred).
  • 10–15 years of experience with trust tax returns and trust administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Form 1041, trust accounting, and trust rules.
  • Skilled with tax software like CCH Axcess.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
