Senior Associate – Corporate Development, M&A   Summary:

Responsible for traditional M&A activities (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, advisory, etc.) and staff specializing in leveraged buyout (LBO/MBO) transactions. Individuals within industry groups who are solely or primarily responsible for M&A should be reported in this category.  Incumbent is in the process of developing basic skills. Almost all activities are transaction oriented (and not related to new business). A significant portion of time is spent on basic work (e.g., due diligence, document processing, financial/ statistical analysis). Able to handle some small transaction situations independently, but will require assistance with large size or special situation transactions.


·        Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred.

·        Three or more years of transaction-related experience, including a significant amount of M&A transactions, preferably at an investment bank.

·        Strong financial modeling skills.

·        Experience with the various legal, tax and other issues common to transactions.

·        Financial institutions industry experience is a plus, but is not required

·        This group has consummated over 85 deals with over $20 billion in value

·        The group currently has 10 professionals including 3 Managing Directors with significant transaction experience and tenure

·        The group historically has recruited from Wall Street banks, consulting groups, and private equity firms.


Responsibilities:

·        International and domestic acquisitions and divestitures activities

·        Strategic assignments, usually supporting the CEO or presidents of our businesses
